The showcases on your ePortfolio give you an opportunity to demonstrate your skills and experiences in depth. Read this article for steps to create a Showcase.
If you want to use advanced showcase formatting options, first, switch from the simple text editor to the Rich Text editor.
Step 1: Create a new showcase by building your summary card. When finished click the link that says "Add Detailed Showcase Section"
Step 2: Select Switch to Rich Text Editor
Advanced editing tools are available in the Rich Text editor. You can easily adjust fonts and paragraph formats and embed multimedia.
With the Rich Text editor, there are two ways of implementing advanced layout formats: one is through Layout Templates; the other is through creating tables.
Using Layout Templates
CN has released a series of Layout Templates to assist ePortfolio users in effortlessly creating visually appealing Showcases. The layout templates are available to members of ePortfolio licensee institutions as well as CN Premium users. If your account does not have access to this feature, you may upgrade to a CN Premium account.
After clicking the blue Layout Templates button, several layout options will become available for you to choose from. Below is an example of the two-column template. Users only need to insert images and fill in text.
Use Tables to Guide Layout
To give your showcase a cleaner and more organized layout, you may use tables to manage your content.
Step 1: Select the number of rows and columns for your table
Step 2: Click on the box you’d like to place your content. Begin typing, add a link, insert an image, or video by clicking on the file, image, link or video icons on the toolbar.
Step 3: Use this box to add or delete rows and columns
Step 4: Add spacing, borders, and other advanced features by clicking on table properties
