On CN, you can endorse Expertise, Recommendations, and Showcases on other people's ePortfolios, which means other people can endorse this content on your ePortfolio too! This is a great way to help add credibility to an ePortfolio and network with others. 

Giving Endorsements

To endorse someone, visit their CN Profile/Portfolio.

1. Endorse someone's expertise by clicking on the Endorse button below each Expertise item.

2. Endorse recommendations by clicking on the + button below the recommendation message.

3. Endorse showcases by clicking on the Endorse button at the bottom of a detailed showcase section.

If you click on the Endorsement button on someone's Expertise or Showcase, you will be prompted to also write a comment to go with your endorsement. If you don't want to write a comment, you can directly click on the blue Endorse button. Please note that when endorsing a Recommendation, you won't be able to write a comment. Your endorsement will immediately be added.

After submitting your endorsement, you will see your picture added next to the other users who have also endorsed the item. 

Important logic:

1. People can leave endorsements without logging in or creating a CN account.

2. If you add a comment with your endorsement, your endorsement will not appear on the page until the user approves it.

Receiving Endorsements

When you receive an endorsement, you will see a notification from the blue notification banner that appears on the top of the site. You can click on the button to view the endorsement.

If the endorser wrote a comment, you would first need to approve the endorsement. Nobody will be able to see the endorsement until you approve it first.

Approve the endorsement by clicking on the green checkmark button. If you don't want to keep the endorsement, you can click on the X button to delete it.

Certified Endorsements

The green checkmark on endorsements indicates the person who endorsed the content is an instructor or classmate from an institution course.
