When you create certain new ePortfolio content or edit existing content, you can publicize the updates to your Home post feed. This content includes Showcases, Expertise, Research, Publications, Grants, and other additional sections.
Post Showcase updates to Home Feed
When creating a new Showcase or editing an existing one that you haven't posted to your Home Feed, you can find a checkbox that says "Post to Home Feed" above the SUBMIT button. If you check this box and submit, a post about this Showcase will be automatically generated on your Home Feed.
Below is what the post will look like. It is visible to your followers and users who share the same skills that you've identified in your Showcase. These people can directly endorse your Showcase on the post. They can also use the typical post features--rate and reflect on the post.
Note: others will see a message like below if they do not have permission to view the Showcase or if you have removed the Showcase from your ePortfolio.
Post Expertise, Research, Publications, Grants, and other sections to Home Feed
When creating a new Expertise/Research/Publications/Grants or editing an existing one that you haven't posted to your Home Feed, you will also see the checkbox "Post to Home Feed." If you check this box, a post about this update will be automatically generated on your Home Feed.
Here we use Expertise as an example:
This is the post that will show on your Home Feed. It is visible to your followers.
Remove ePortfolio Update Posts
Once an update on your ePortfolio is posted to your Home feed, you are not able to take it back by editing the specific content, such as the Showcase. The checkbox will be disabled.
However, if you really want to remove the update post, you can go to your Home feed, delete the post from the post control dropdown.
If you would like to suggest adding this feature to other ePortfolio sections or have any questions, feel free to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
