Following discussions in a social learning environment could be overwhelming. Many new posts emerge in a short time if the class is big or very active. This AI Post Summary feature aims to support both instructors and students in such situations. It is another social discussion facilitation feature that leverages Generative AI's natural language processing power.
When a user visits their course, if there are more than 20 posts created since their last course visit, Rumi (i.e., the AI-powered personal learning assistant on CN), will provide a summary of the missed posts to help the user quickly catch up on missing conversations.
In this case, the user sees a prompt above the course post feed.
When clicking "View Summary", Rumi will be providing a summary like the one below. It highlights the most common topics.
A few important logic of this feature:
- This feature is for every course member - instructors, students, and all other course roles.
- The post summary prompt appears when a user has missed 20 or more posts, regardless of when was their last course visit.
- The summary covers up to 100 most recent posts.
