Institutions can create their own grade conversions for their institution courses to use in their grading.
To add grade conversions, go to the Settings & Controls page of CN Channel and find the Settings for Full CN section. At the bottom of this section, you’ll find Add Grade Conversion types. The four default grade conversion types from CN are displayed here. Click on the + Create One link to start creating your own grade conversions.
This is the Add Grade Conversion window. On this window, enter a name for your grade conversion, then add the grades and minimum percentage of each grade. Click on the plus sign icon to the right of the Minimum % column to add more grades.
Here’s an example of a finished grade conversion. We named it "Institution-Wide Grade Conversion". Yours should be more specific. Click the SAVE button once you’re finished.
Your new grade conversion will appear at the bottom of the list, above the + Create One button. You can always edit or delete any grade conversion types that have been created in your Channel.
Your new grade conversion should now appear in every course under your Channel. There are two places that course instructors can find the grade conversion:
- Edit Grade Conversion window
The instructor can’t edit grade conversions created by the institution. They can use this window to view the institution-set grade conversion. - Release Grades to Students window
When the instructor releases grades to students, they can select the grade conversion created by the institution from the dropdown underneath Release Letter Grade.
