Introduction

The Import Course Settings feature in CourseNetworking provides instructors with a quick and efficient way to set up new course sites by reusing settings from their previously created courses. Whether you are managing a Classic Course, a Pathway Course, or a CN Post course, this feature ensures consistency while minimizing repetitive tasks.

Key Logic

• The Import Course Settings feature allows instructors to reuse key configurations from an existing course. You can select one or multiple settings to import:
  • Course Anar Seeds Settings: Transfer Anar Seed-related settings, such as Anar Seeds goal, table, and grading setup. 
  • Global Class Settings: Apply the same course category. 
  • Post Settings: Carry forward post-related configurations, such as the default post visibility setting and specific AI functions.
  • Instructor-suggested Hashtags: Copy instructor-suggested hashtags to facilitate engagement.

• This feature supports importing settings between personal courses or courses from the same CN Channel.
• At this stage, importing settings from another instructor’s course using a Copy Code is not supported. This functionality may be added in the future.
• If the target course already contains settings, importing will override these existing settings, except for Instructor-suggested hashtags, which will be added to the existing list.

Using the Import Course Settings Feature

Step1: Accessing the Import Course Settings Feature

The Import Course Settings option is available in different locations depending on the course type.

Classic Course

In a Classic Course, you can access the Import Course Settings option from the course settings dropdown.

Pathway Course

In a Pathway Course, the option is similarly located in the course settings dropdown.

CN Post

For CN Post, the feature is located in the left menu of the top navigation bar. 

Step2: Selecting Course and Settings to Import

After clicking Import Course Settings in any of the above locations, the page updates to display a simple form:

1. Select a Course: Choose the course you wish to import settings from using the dropdown menu. Note that only qualified courses within your account will appear.
2. Choose Settings: Tick the checkboxes to select which settings you want to import.
3. Click the Import button to complete the import.
