Step 1: Add An Activity in your course
- Within a topic or module, click on “Add an activity or resource”
- Select “External tool” from the menu and click on Add
Step 2: Fill out External tool form
- Fill out the Activity name – we suggest using: Anar Seeds (CN Post)
- External tool type: CN Post
Under the Privacy section:
- Make sure “Accept grades from the tool” is checked
Please note: If you plan to include CN Post as an added activity in multiple topics/modules, ONLY ONE of them should have the “Accept grades from the tool” checked. If you check this box in multiple tool instances then you will create multiple CN Post entries in the Gradebook*
Under the Grade section:
- Select type
- Enter in maximum amount of points (if point-type is selected)
- Note: We suggest leaving all other settings in their defaulted positions
- Click on one of the two SAVE buttons at the bottom of the page
After saving, you and your students will see the CN Post activity under the selected topic or module. You will also see the "Anar Seeds (CN Post)" assignment under the Grades tab.
Step 3: Fill out Anar Seed Settings
One CN Post opens, click on the “Anar Seeds Settings” link on the left-hand menu in CN Post
- Click the box next to “Set up Anar goal in this course”
- Enter an Anar number into the “Anar goal” field
- Select a time frame for course members to accumulate Anar seeds. Note, course members will not be able to earn any seeds before the start date and after the end date of this time frame
- Click the box next to "Use Anar Seeds to Grading". From the dropdown, select Pass "Anar Seeds" to LMS Gradebook (for CN Post)
- Select an Anar Seeds grade passback setting. There are 3 options. Read this article to learn more.
- If you want to modify the course Anar Seeds table, edit the table
- Click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page
After saving, you and your students will see the CN Post activity under the selected topic or module. You will also see the "Anar Seeds (CN Post) " assignment under the Grades tab. Students' Anar Seeds grades will automatically appear in the Moodle Grade book based on the Anar Seeds grade passback setting you chose, and the grades will automatically update within an hour after each Anar Seeds update in CN Post.
