How to Disable
CN Channel admins have the option to disable Rumi services for all of their Channel members by following the steps below:
1. Login to CN Channel
2. Select "Rumi" from the left menu
3. View the "Settings" tab
4. Check specific service settings to turn them off
What Happens After Disabling A Service
1. In this example, the Rumi Quote Competition has been disabled:
Channel members will no longer have access to this service. The same logic applies to all recommendation services (i.e., Rumi Community Recommendations, Rumi Job Recommendations, Rumi Connection Recommendations, and Rumi Resource Recommendations), Rumi Tips, Announcements (i.e., both Site-wide CourseNetworking Announcements and Institution Announcements), and ePortfolio Notifications.
Note: The Site-wide CourseNetworking Announcements are important system and service updates pushed out by the CN team to all CN users. We recommend that you do not disable it for no specific reason.
2. If Institution Announcements are disabled, the "Institution Announcements" tab will be removed from the Rumi page, regardless of whether any announcements have been created there. Channel members will no longer receive any of them.
3. In this case, all of the General Rumi Services have been disabled.
The Rumi icon does not appear on the navigation bar for your Channel users. They will not be exposed to Rumi on CN anymore.
4. If the AI features for instructors are disabled (i.e., AI Quiz Question Generation, AI Rubric Generation), instructors will no longer have access to these features in your Channel courses.
5. When AI Automated Post Reflection, Automated Hashtagging for Posts, and Rumi Post Summary are disabled, these features become unavailable in all Channel courses. However, instructors can override this setting by re-enabling them from Post Settings in each course - read this guide as an example.
