Note: this feature is only available to CN Channels that have subscribed to this service.
Admins of a CN Channel that have subscribed to the automated email reminders are able to create automated emails that will send out to students in courses under certain conditions.
Step 1:
To begin, log in to your CN Channel. Then, navigate to User Management, then click on the Email Templates tab. Next, click Course Emails to open the Automated Email Reminders section. To create a new email reminder, click Create Email
Step 2:
The email creation form has 4 parts: Email name, Event and Condition, Recipients, and the Email itself.
Email name: This is what the email will be labeled as in the CN Channel email list. It is only for CN Channel admins to distinguish different emails. It is not seen by the email recipients.
Event: What triggers the email to be automatically sent.
Condition: Specifying when the event happens, such as choosing a number of days before account expiration.
Recipients: What course's students will receive the automatic email. Please note that you can only select ACTIVE courses in your Channel.
Email: The email Subject and Body that the students will receive.
Auto-Generated Data: Placeholder text in the body of the email that will dynamically fill in when the email is sent out, such as a student's name or the course name. You click each tag to insert them. In the email body, the data appears in { }. Please do not edit the text inside the { }.
Right now, there are 3 different events you can choose from. They are:
- Course Visit: Sent when a student has not logged into a course for a certain number of days.
- Account Expiration: Warning the student that their CN account is set to expire in a certain number of days.
- Course Completion: The student has not completed the course in a certain number of days after joining the course.

You may click "Preview" from the bottom to preview your email.
Step 3:
After the email form is filled out, click Save to add it to your CN channel.
The email will now begin being sent out to students when the event conditions are met. Please note that CN checks status on a daily basis. So, there may be a few hours slight delay.
You can use the Actions options on the right side of the list to edit the email, delete the email, view who has received the email, and disable/enable the email.
