If you would like to share your screen with your class in ClassCast, you can use the Screenshare function.
STEP1: To start a Screenshare, click on the screen icon in the top left corner (make sure you are the presenter).
STEP2: Next, from the new window that appears, click on the “Start” button.
STEP3: A file titled “screenshare.jnlp” will be downloaded to your computer. You will need to open this file to start the screen share.
If you try to directly open the downloaded file, you’ll see a message saying that the file cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
STEP4: Instead, locate the downloaded file on your computer. Right-click on the file and click on “Open” from the dropdown that appears.
STEP5: This time, you’ll receive the same warning, but you are given the option to open the file or cancel. Click on the “Open” button.
Note: If you don’t have Java or the latest version of it installed on your computer, you may be prompted to download Java. Java is required to run Screenshare.
STEP6: When asked if you want to run this application, click on the “Run” button.
Your Screenshare should successfully be running now! You’ll see a preview of your Screenshare in the window on the bottom-left. You can always minimize this window if you need to. This window also provides you with the options to pause or stop the Screenshare.
If too much time has passed before you can get the Screenshare to start, you’ll see a message saying “Did not detect start of screen sharing. Select ‘Cancel’ and try again”. You’ll have to click on the “Cancel” button and repeat steps 1-6. Each time, there will be a new screenshare.jnlp file downloaded, you must open the file downloaded for the specific try to run screenshare.
