Badges can be awarded in two different ways. First, by selecting a course member to award a badge to, and second, by selecting a badge to award course members.
Option 1 Select a course member to award selected badges to
STEP 1: This can be done from the course Roster or on an individual post.
STEP 2: Click on the blue badge icon next to the course member’s name
STEP 3: After clicking on the blue badge symbol, a window will appear. Then select the badge you would like to award, customize the default comment and click submit.
Option 2 Select a badge to award to course members
STEP 1: Go to the Badges tab on the left navigation menu
STEP 2: After clicking on the badges tab you can see the list of predefined badges. The numbers next to each badge are links that represent the course members who have been awarded the badge. From this page, click the image of the badge you would like to award (i.e. Top 10%, Anar badge, Best Participant, etc.)
STEP 3: Next, chose how you would like to select recipients for this badge. If you choose not to select members manually then the badge recipients can be selected based on course Anar seeds or grades.
STEP 4: If you choose the manual option, search the course member’s name then click submit.
If you choose to select based on other criteria, enter the criteria, view members who fit the criteria you entered and then click submit.
STEP 5: To view awarded badges click the “View Awarded Badges” tab. You can also remove badge recipients on this page.
Hint: Instructors may create their own badges by selecting the “Create Badges” tab
